Casa San Francesco is a beautifully restored 3 bedroom home, located in Cortona, Italy. It is just a short walk up the hill from the main piazza and offers wonderful views of the roof tops and the valley below. The magnificent church of San Francesco (where St. Francis of Assisi ministered for several years) is located just down the street.

Casa San Francesco consisting of three floors of living space has been lovingly restored over the past few years and has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms (with showers). Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds and the third has two twins. The sofa-bed on the first floor will sleep two small children or 1 adult. The total capacity is 6 people.

In addition, there is a TV, DVD, Stereo, and bar area in the living room. There is also a washing machine. The kitchen is complete with modern amenities.

On the ground floor there is the entrance with a living room and a corner bar characterized by a stone fireplace, a bathroom with a shower and a laundry. Climbing the wooden staircase you can reach the first floor. This is made up of a large fitted kitchen with ancient niches used as a dresser and a double bedroom. On the second floor there are a double bedroom and double bedroom with a bathroom with a shower. The rooms are characterized by ancient chestnut planked floors and ceilings with beams and arches. All the rooms have been furnished with old restored furniture and ancient wrought iron beds, the kitchen is supplied with all the necessary electric appliances such as a dishwasher, electric oven, mirco-wave oven, electric kettle, toaster and wireless connections. From the window you can admire the beautiful panorama over the roofs of Cortona and a major part of the Valdichiana. The House is also in the highest part of Cortona where car parking is allowed nearby.

Surroundings: The villa is ideal for those who wish to spend a holiday in our Etruscan land only a few steps from the main historic and artistic monuments of the city of Cortona, and to visit the major cities and small hamlets of Tuscan and Umbria. From the Villa you can reach the centre of Cortona in 5 minutes on foot, with ice-cream parlours, coffee shops, typical eating places, craftsmen’s workshops, the Etruscan Museum, the Diocesan Museum and all that the city can offer. 

By train, from either the Camucia or Terontola station you can reach the city of Rome (2 hours), Florence (1 hour), Orvieto (1 hour), Arezzo (25 mins.), Assisi (1 hour), Perugia (40 minis.).

By car you can reach: Siena (50 mins.), Castiglione del Lago (15 mins.), Montepulciano (35 mins.), Pienza (45 mins.), Castiglion Fiorentino (20 mins), Corciano (25 mins.), Gubbio (90 mins.), Spello (60 mins.), Montefalco (50 mins.), Chianti (70 mins.).
