Resort Santa Lucia.jpg

One of the oldest civilizations in the world

The Resort Santa Lucia is an Authentic 18th Century Farmhouse, originally designed for large families of Sharecroppers. Spend a settimana – 7 days in an award winning Tuscan hill town as ancient as the Roman Empire, flagged by the Italian Touring Club and featured in blockbuster movie "Under the Tuscan Sun ".

This type of building, known as "Casa-Colonica" (Colony-Home) is commonly found in central Italy, and it represents key evidence of the past rural life. It is best suited for travelers who seek authenticity and a real cultural exchange vs a luxury pampering. This is an off-the-beaten path immersion into local lore and historic art and monuments. Because of the sheer age of the dwellings and structures, physically challenged travelers will be uncomfortable if touring is desired. Otherwise the beauty of Tuscany can be absorbed by cooking in or touring and dining out. Weekend markets are famous for amazing food and local finds. Being in Tuscany is like a fairy tale. We’ve created a package that is unmatched and incomparable for a memorable lifelong connection to your charity. Travel with a heart. ❣️

Personal expenses such as drinks, laundry and souvenirs.

Adventure with a Purpose!

The Gorilla Village Lodge was built with the chief goal of supporting a nearby orphanage for Batwa children. Due to an unfathomable cultural myth, some men in this area believe that HIV can be cured by sleeping with a Batwa woman, leading to unthinkable acts. This leaves the Batwa women devastated and often left with children they are unable to care for. ❣️

By staying at the lodge and participating in these fantastic activities, you are giving hope and support to the Batwa community, especially the orphanage, through various programs and organizations collaborating to make life better for these wonderful people. ❣️
