Bob Dole had no idea that when he recited The Dash before the National Press Club in Washington DC on May 23, 2008, Linda Ellis would exploit his good name to sell her dime store junk.

Dole didn't ask Elli's permission nor did he buy a license to use the copyrighted piece. It took Ellis 4 years to figure out the politician had recited the content onC-Span. The minute Linda Ellis found out she began bragging that Dole shared her poem. She never accused him of stealing her poem or charged him with copyright infringement. Instead Linda Ellis is using Bob Dole's good name to sell garden nomes, framed photos of The Dash and Garden Nomes. 

Video Description: Former Senator Robert Dole talked about the changes being made to improve care for wounded veterans. The former senator, who was gravely wounded in World War II, is co-chair of President Bush’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors. The bipartisan commission released a report in August 2007 calling for rules to simplify the confusing standards for determining disability and compensation, eliminate overlapping activities between the Defense Department and the Veterans Administration, reduce inequities, and provide the tools for injured veterans to return to productive civilian lives.
