Report John W. Jolin AKA John Whitelaw Jolin to State Bar of Georgia

As Ellis’s agent, Jolin invented many titles over the years: Legal Representative, Copyright Coordinator, Copyright Representative and most recently, Intellectual Property Coordinator. Of all the titles he’s given himself, Intellectual Property Coordinator is the closest to a real profession. As an example, the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator agency is managed by Mr. Shelanski. Mr. Shelanski received a B.A. from Haverford College, and a J.D. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He practiced law and served as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia of the United States Supreme Court. His Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator and Chief of Staff – Alex Niejelow is similarly credentialed. Mr. Niejelow is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 2007) and a graduate of Duke University (A.B., 2004). Mr. Niejelow joined the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP, where he worked on a variety of litigation matters, including complex securities litigation, government and regulatory matters, intellectual property litigation and internal corporate investigations. And the infamous Copyright Troll Timothy B. McCormack received a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Washington with an emphasis on rhetorical analysis, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law with a special certificate of study in the area of intellectual property. Unfortunately, John Whitelaw Jolin is missing the education and experience and all those capital letters next to his name. He has no credentials of any kind relating to intellectual property and he is not an attorney or an Intellectual Property Coordinator. Now you know.

The Official Code of Georgia O.C.G.A. § 15-19-51 states that unless otherwise licensed to practice law, it is the Unauthorized Practice of Law in Georgia to furnish legal services, give legal advice or to furnish attorneys or counsel; or to render legal services of any kind.

O.C.G.A. § 15-19-50 (2006) defines the practice of law, and specifies actions that are prohibited as the Unauthorized Practice of Law, including a requirement that only law firms may be involved in conveyancing, e.g., the transfer or pledge of real property as collateral for mortgage loans.

The preparation of court documents; conveyancing; legal instruments of all kinds where legal rights are secured; the rendering of opinions as to the validity or invalidity of titles to real or personal property; the giving of any legal advice; or any action taken for others in any matter connected with the law.

John W. Jolin begins Ellis's terror campaign by sending a letter filled with misrepresentations to her targets. He continues to send emails until he the target responds. Once the target responds, he negotiates a settlement. Once a settlement is reached, he drafts the agreement and then arranges for the conveyance of the payoff. If it walks like a duck, smells like a duck and talks like a duck, well you know, it must be a duck.

You can report John W. Jolin to the State Bar of Georgia. This is the form. Include your extortion letter and all emails and records.
