Linda Ellis, Author, Speaker, Poet, exhorts us to "enjoy The Dash poem written by Linda Ellis.  This poem has been enjoyed by millions around the world." She brags,   "The words have changed many lives."

Has The Dash changed lives? I doubt that anyone who shares The Dash expected The Dash to put them in them in the crosshairs of the Internet's nastiest copyright troll, Linda Ellis.

But she does have converts if only until they receive their first extortion letter. Ellis needs you and your belief that "Linda Ellis is an inspirational author" to make The Dash Extortion Scheme work. In fact, Linda Ellis, author of The Dash lives a life very different than the life The Dash exemplifies. She is a down and dirty copyright troll and uses the fangs of her image as religios to break and shame her targets in paying her off.

Today I want to re-emphasize that Linda Ellis, author of The Dash - copyright troll and John W. Jolin copyright representative - henchman have never stepped one foot into a courtroom in defense of her copyright. NEVER.

The only time Linda Ellis sued anyone was Eric J. Aronson and that suit was based on the fact that he agreed to pay Ellis $350 to license The Dash in a book he wrote. It took 87 filings and Ellis won because Aronson did not show up for court.

CLERK'S JUDGMENT in favor of Plaintiff and against Defendants in the amount of $150,000 statutory damages, plus $114,066.73 attorneys' fees. (sjk) --Please refer to to obtain an appeals jurisdiction checklist-- (Entered: 07/29/2005)

Aronson was inunder indictment by the Feds for a Ponzi scheme. He is currently in jail awaiting sentencing in Brooklyn for another Ponzi scheme after having served time for the first one. Ellis' attorney added the copyright infringementclaim to that original charge of Breach of Contract.

In the extortion letter, Linda claims she won a case for "copyright infringement"which is true, but the circumstance of that case does not reflect any other target or victim of Ellis. I have never found a case where any judge has ruled that posting a poem on a blog is copyright infringement involving any author on the planet-including Linda Ellis. Linda Ellis does not have the guts to try a case against a blogger using a blog post. And she has not sued 3 other authors who used her poem in a book.

From the Dash Extortion letter:

"We do not wish to resort to the courts; however, Ms. Ellis has proven that she has, and will, protect the value and integrity of her copyrighted works. In the case of Ellis v. Aronson, filed in the
Northern District of Georgia, Ms. Ellis received a judgment the amount of $269,000.00.1"

Linda Ellis and her attorneys did not collect $269,000.00 from Aronson.

I tell you this because even attorneys don't bother to look up those 86 filings (public information Ellis v. Aronson- search for yourself or read Poetic Justicefor the rest of the story). Most attorneys belong to services that allow them to read court records without charge so there is no excuse to not investigate John W. Jolin's and Linda Ellis' ourtrageous claims.  Case in point Caldwell County Schools. Attorney Ed Blair caved with the first Dash Extortion letter without ever searching he Internet. So Linda CAN STILL find a dope now and then, but the gravy train is soooo over.

UPDATE: IN 2017 Linda Ellis sold the copyright for The Dash to Mac Anderson, a wealthy publisher and author. If you paid off Linda Ellis, share your story of abuse and harassment and request a refund of extorted monies paid to Linda Ellis.  Contact Mac Anderson at Simple Truths.
